I have a 1990 Volvo that won’t start unless the battery is hooked up to an external power source. The strange thing is that the battery is new and it has a charge (It was hooked up to a battery charger all night and gives off a strong spark). The second that the jumper cables are removed the car stalls out. It has new spark plugs, a new ignition coil, new wires and a new battery. Any ideas?

    1. Hunter Says:

      maybe a alternator

    2. Michael S Says:

      Get your alternator checked.

    3. Captain Beaky Says:

The clamps isnt making good connection the jump leads if the battery wont get through so as soon as soon as you lose all power from your battery terminals when you connect jump leads if the inside of the battery wont get through so as you remove the power from.
