My volvo wagon has trouble excellerating from a stop - any suggestions?

1988 Volvo Station Wagon, 740 GLE, Non-turbo. During especially the winter my car has trouble excellerating, sometimes not even being able to go above 20 mph. Turning off, and then on my car sometimes will fix the problem for the rest of the ride, but i’m stumped as to how to fix it and what would be causing the problem. Any ideas?

      Try taking it to someone who knows what they are doing. It is not going to fix itself.

      you may have clogged fuel injectors. try a tune up and at your next fill up, use some injector cleaner in the tank. also, you could try premium gas - costs a little more, but some cars do a lot better on the higher octane - that’s why it is available and if it saves you from a mechanic bill, it’s worth it. good luck.
